Welcome to the Neurofeedback DFW. My name is JoAnna Strong. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified (BCIA) Neurotherapist. The purpose of this blog is to introduce you to the field of Neurofeedback and offer an overview of the kind of services I provide to my clients.
Holistic Approach
I bring a holistic mind-body approach to my practice. I know that your physical and mental states are interconnected, and I emphasize that Neurofeeedback is not necessarily a “stand-alone” therapy. It often works better in the context of improved nutrition, good sleep habits, and counseling to help you manage the subtle shifts in your life which results from training. Someone described their experience as similar to the windshield wiper improving visibility. Life problems/goals come into focus more clearly. You overcome procrastination. Relationships improve because you improve. Why treat the symptom when Neurofeedback can treat the cause??
Background
I received both my undergraduate and master’s degrees from Texas Tech University. I completed post-masters work at the University of Sydney (Australia) and St. Mary’s University (San Antonio). I have been involved with NFB since 2000.
Empowering
I believe that Neurofeedback training empowers you to create your own internal environment which then allows you greater control of both your physical and mental health. If you are interested in becoming a better version of yourself, call me.
Results discussed are based on my personal experiences and not necessarily the result of controlled research conditions.
